Governor J.B. Pritzker is sending the National Guard to assist with a vaccine site in DeKalb at the Northern Illinois University Convocation Center. The site will be open to those live and work in DeKalb County who are eligible in the current vaccine phase.

The Illinois National Guard will be operating at the site beginning Wednesday. It will be appointment only. Appointments will be handled through the DeKalb County Health Department. The site will be able to administer 270 vaccine doses a day.

The DeKalb County Health Department has been holding vaccine clinics at the site, but expects to be able to increase capacity with the help of the National Guard members.
