Anticipating more residential and commercial growth in Oswego, the village is looking to meet the construction arrival with a new staff position.

The title will be Development Services Project Manager.

Oswego Village Administrator Dan DiSanto provided this job description.

In the last few months, the Oswego Village Board has heard concept plans from developers for residential subdivisions, many along Wolf’s Crossing Road. Besides residential, the employee would work with commercial developments. The new position has been on hold for five years.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Piper Glen development was approved unanimously by the board, which will add 16 townhomes and 304 single family houses on 134 acres at the southwest corner of Douglas and Wolf Crossing roads. Currently, the developer is studying draining and flooding concerns in the area.

Oswego Village Board President Troy Parlier also announced five new restaurants will be opening soon in the downtown area.

DiSanto talked about where the money will come from in the new position.

DiSanto said staff had approached him about the need for a new position to unload the work burden.  The new hire is expected to this summer, working with Community Development Director Rod Zenner.

Applicants being sought are expected to have experience in planning, engineering, and construction.
