Circuit judges in the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit have appointed Attorney Jason D. Majer as the new Public Defender for Kendall County. Majer is replacing Victoria Chuffo who resigned back in August.
Majer will begin as Public Defender on January 3. He is the managing partner of the Law Offices of Majer, Sheen, & Piereth. Majer graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago Law School and Illinois State University. He began his career in the McHenry County Public Defender's Office before going into private practice.
Chief Judge Robert Pilmer says Attorney Majer is well qualified for the job. There were fifteen applicants.
Majer will manage the Public Defender's Office which has five assistant public defenders and one administrative staff member.
Pilmer also thanks outgoing interim Public Defender Attorney Kenneth E. Johnson who took up the post under short notice after Chuffo's resignation.
