Nineteen-year-old David M. Williams, of North Aurora, has been charged in a shooting that left two injured in the parking lot of the Woodman's grocery store just off Orchard Road in North Aurora Tuesday evening.
Police say Williams arranged a drug deal with the victim who ended up being shot in the neck after Williams pulled a gun and tried to rob him of the drugs. Another man who was with Williams was shot in the leg as Williams and the victim struggled over the gun. The three were in a parked car at the time. The man who was shot in the leg was taken to hospital in fair condition. The 17-year-old boy who was shot in the neck was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Williams, along with a man and a woman, were found in a nearby apartment and questioned by police on Tuesday. The other man and woman were released. Williams has remained in custody.
Williams is due in Kane County Court Saturday for a bond hearing. He's charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, armed robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon.
