The Yorkville City Council will have a chance to approve a new alderman to represent the city's second ward on Tuesday.
City agenda documents show that Mayor John Purcell is nominating Craig A. Soling Sr. for the Ward 2 seat left vacant by Jackie Milschewski who recently resigned from the city council.
In his application for the city position, Soling says that has been with Fox Metro Water Reclamation District for 21 years serving in multiple positions. Soling also says he served in various elected positions including president, vice president, and secretary for AFSCME Local 3297.
Soling also is involved with the scouts, serving as cubmaster, committee chair, and other positions within PACK 340 for ten years. Soling also says he has served with the Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District as both a firefighter and emergency medical technician.
If approved by the Yorkville City Council, Soling will serve for the remainder of the term which expires in April of 2023.
