48-year-old Mark A. Hampton, of Oswego, was found guilty earlier this week of predatory criminal sexual abuse.

The Kane County State's Attorney's Office says that Hampton sexually assaulted a child under thirteen-years-old between 2015 and 2017. Police were notified after the victim told a family member about the abuse.

Hampton is facing a sentence of 12 to 120 years in prison and will need to register for life as a sexual offender. Hampton's bond was revoked and he was taken into custody after the guilty verdict was reached.

Hampton is due back in Kane County Court in December for sentencing.
