Hunters in Illinois harvested over 52,300 deer during the first weekend of Illinois firearm season. Last year, the number was about 48,900 deer.
In Kendall County, hunters took 43 deer this year and 47 last year. Down from 2020 where hunters harvested 57 deer in the county. In DeKalb County, hunters bagged 73 deer during this year's season and 87 last year.
Hunters in Kane County harvested 18 deer in 2022 and 27 in 2021.
In LaSalle County, hunters bagged 427 deer this year and 409 last year.
Illinois's firearm deer season concludes on December first through the fourth.
