The renovation of the Pickerill Estate House at the Pickerill-Pigott Forest Preserve in Yorkville is nearly done, according Kendall County Forest Preserve District officials.
Forest Preserve President Brian DeBolt says supply chain issues could hold things up. DeBolt and Forest Preserve Director David Guritz spoke about it last week at the Forest Preserve Commission meeting. Guritz expects renovations to be done in July.
DeBolt also says that forest preserve staff are working on some change orders to the project that will be brought before the full commission for consideration.
DeBolt notes that donations from area contractors have helped to speed things along.
The renovated Pickerill House will be used as an event space for the forest preserve district and will be available to the public.
The forest preserve commission approved a $1.9 million renovation package for the home and is receiving about $928,000 in grant funding for the project.
