Plano received good marks on its annual financial audit according to the accounting firm Lauterbach and Amen. Accountant Brad Porter presented the audit to the Plano City Council Monday night. Porter says there were no issues in conducting the audit.
Porter says the city gets an unmodified opinion of finances and financial controls which means that no changes need to be made.
Porter says two suggestions from previous audits have been taken care of. One was a 2020 fund that was over budget.
Porter noted that spending over budget happens for a number of reasons and can easily be fixed in future budgets. Porter says he have to report any over budget spending, even if it is a trivial amount. The city council voted to accept the audit later on in the meeting.
