Oswego police on Wednesday arrested 32-year-old Elbert Phillips, who has addresses listed in Plano and Aurora, on multiple charges including aggravated battery, resisting a police officer, and domestic battery.
Officers were sent to a home in the 200 block of Springbrook Trail South after dispatchers heard over an open 9-1-1 line that a domestic incident was happening. While on the way, officers were told that a second 9-1-1 call was received and that a woman had reported that a man was trying to kill her.
When police arrived they heard screaming, but no one was coming to the door. Police entered the home, and continued to hear screaming from a locked bedroom. Believing that a woman was in danger, police forced their way into the bedroom. They allege that Phillips was there and ignored officer's commands and fought with them. He was arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation and later to the Kendall County Jail.
The woman at the home refused medical treatment.
