Several area police departments will participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run next week on Wednesday. The Plano Police Department is asking drivers on Route 34 and Route 47 to extremely cautious that morning as officers will be running on or near roads. The event is meant to support the Illinois Special Olympics.
Areas where the run is happening include eastbound Route 34 from Waubonsee Drive, in Plano, through the intersection of Route 47. Westbound Route 34 from Rickard Drive, in Oswego, through the intersection of Route 47 and Southbound Route 47, in Yorkville, from Route 34 to Yorkville's Town Square Park. The starting point in Plano will be Waubonsee Community College's Plano Center. In Oswego, the starting point will be Crosspointe Community Church.
Any spectators are asked to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.
