Oswego Village Hall says that Wolf's Crossing Road between Harvey Road and Route 30 will stay closed for the next several weeks while repairs are made to a deteriorating culvert. A resident on Wednesday had contacted the village to report that the road over the culvert had appeared to have sunk down. An engineer checked it out and found that road had not sunk, but that there were other serious issues that required investigation.
The village plans to install a series of reinforced concrete pipes in place of the culvert. The road will stay closed while repairs are completed.
The village is working to update the whole road in several segments for an overall cost of $64-million. Portions of the project are under consideration for federal funding.
