A Sandwich Fire Captain is being recognized for performing CPR on a neighbor when he went into cardiac arrest about a month ago. Captain Ryan Thomas initiated CPR right away and an ambulance crew arrived shortly thereafter. Mr. John Nelson was able to recover as a result of the quick response. On Tuesday, Nelson and his family treated the Sandwich Fire Protection District to some pizza as thanks. A note from the Nelson family, posted on the Sandwich Fire Protection District's social media, said it was hard to put into words their gratitude for saving John's life.
