State Rep. David Welter is scheduled to hold a prescription drug drop off day on Saturday, October 23 from ten to three at the Kendall County Government Campus at 804 W. John Street in Yorkville.

The event is being held in conjunction with Kendall County Coroner Jacquie Purcell, Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder, The Kendall County Sheriff's Office, and both the Yorkville and Oswego police departments.

Items that will be accepted include prescription medications, ointments, patches, vitamins, pet medicines, and needles. Illegal drugs will not be taken. People will stay in their vehicles during the drop off.

Rep. Welter says drugs dropped off at the event will be disposed of safely which will prevent them from falling into the wrong hands and putting others at risk.
