Two people were injured in an accident that happened in the Interstate 80 westbound lanes in Will County around four Thursday morning. The Illinois State Police said the driver of a semi-truck lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway striking the cable barrier on the left side of the road.
As a result, the semi-truck rolled over on the driver side. Another semi-truck was not able to stop in time and hit the first vehicle. After the impact, the second truck hit the cable barriers on the left side of the road and rolled over on its side. The driver of the first truck was taken to a local area hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the second truck was taken to a local area hospital with minor injuries. Interstate 80 was closed in both directions for the crash investigation for approximately 2 hours. All lanes reopened around eight.
