The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has identified the two people who died in a crash near Genoa Monday morning. 38-year-old Herminio Rodriguez-Garcia and 37-year-old Juan Aguado-Correa, both of DeKalb, were killed in the three-vehicle crash on Route 23 north of Ellen Drive. Six others were hurt.

Police say the two men who died were in a Ford F250 with four others including the driver that was heading north on Route 23. The driver of a southbound Chevy Silverado had crossed into the northbound lane and crashed into the Ford head-on. Another southbound vehicle also hit the Ford while trying to avoid the crash.

Garcia and Correa were declared dead at the scene, the other four people in the Ford were taken to Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb. The driver of the Chevy was also taken to Kishwaukee Hospital. Police noted that he was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the third vehicle was treated and released at the scene.

The crash is under investigation. Police have not announced any charges.
