Yorkville Police Officer Jeffrey Johnson was recognized by the Yorkville American Legion on Tuesday for his actions helping an elderly resident having a medical episode this summer.
The Yorkville Police Department says that Officer Johnson responded to a well being check at a home in Yorkville and found an unsecured door. After calling to see if anyone was home, Johnson heard someone crying. Johnson entered the home and found a child and an elderly person apparently having a medical emergency.
An ambulance was called, and the resident was taken to a hospital for treatment. The police department says the resident is recovering and the child is doing well.
The Yorkville Police Department says it's proud of Officer Johnson and his actions.
