Yorkville Alderman Chris Funkhouser is proposing that a budget surplus be used as a rebate to residents, possibly in the form of credits on utility bills. LaSalle County Jail Inmate Accused of Attacking Nurse and Corrections Officers

39-year-old Brad M. Johnson, of Machesney Park, is charged with three counts of aggravated battery and unlawful possession of contraband in a jail after he allegedly attacked a nurse at the LaSalle County Jail and two corrections deputies with what police are calling a metal shank. Read more

Montgomery Police Recover Stolen ATV

Police in Montgomery last week pulled over an ATV for driving on the roadway and not having a registration plate. The driver, 18-year-old Adam Herren, of Boulder Hill, was arrested.
