Carol J. Wiley, 88, of Earlville, IL passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Pleasant View Luther Home in Ottawa, IL. She was born July 3, 1933 in Waterman the daughter of Lester and Mary (Garland) Hughes. She graduated from Earlville High School in the class of 1951. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Earlville Farmers CO-OP Fertilizer Company. Carol was a talented seamstress, enjoyed quilting, making teddy bears, doing counted cross-stitch, and watching Jeopardy. She enjoyed taking long walks with her many dogs, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Julia Shepard of Earlville, IL, one son, Leslie (Becky) Shepard of Ottawa, IL, three grandchildren, Eric (Lexie) Cwikla of Hennepin, IL, Molly (Jason) Leser of Ft. Belvoir, VA, and Mitchell Shepard of Oklahoma City, OK,

Seven great grandchildren, McKinley, Conlan, Deacon, and Emberlyn Cwikla, Arthur,

Shepard, and Walter Leser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings two brothers and two sisters.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the Earlville Public Library or the Earlville Historical Society.
