Cindy Anne Elish Zitt gained her wings on March 17, 2023, at her home in Yorkville Illinois.
Cindy was born March 8, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, to George D. Elish, who proceeds her in death. Cindy married Michael J. Zitt on May 24, 1980, and he passed away on December 26, 2005. Cindy was a loving mother to Ryan (Stephanie) Zitt and Joseph (Priscilla) Zitt. Gigi to Tyler, Makayla, Delilah, Madilyn, Penelope, Oliver and Genevieve.
Cindy is survived by Michael Jamison, her longtime partner. They shared the love of outdoors, especially the beach and dancing in the backyard! Cindy is also survived by her mother-by-marriage, Pamela Elish, and sisters, Debi (Lee) Downs, Amy (John) Reifenstuhl, brother David (Donna) Elish, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Cindy graduated from Naperville Central High School. Cindy worked for Elish family-owned businesses, Elish Construction, Inc. and Oxford Textiles Inc., in Houston Texas; Oxford, North Carolina; and Warrenville, Illinois, from 1982 until 2005. In 2006, Cindy went to work for Alexander Lumber Co until early 2022.
Cindy was a wonderful wife, partner, mother, Gigi, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of those around her. She was a very generous, hardworking soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. A loyal and honest friend, Cindy loved the simple things in life.
Cindy will be remembered for being strong-minded, the strength of her convictions, and most importantly, her tender heart. Cindy’s departure has left a tremendous void in all of our hearts. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
