After a long battle with Alzheimers, Cliff Roy Reininger of San Antonio, Texas passed away on September 26, 2021 at Brookdale Hamilton Memory care in San Antonio, Texas with his children by his side.

Cliff was born on July 1, 1947 in Aurora Illinois, to Clifford N Reininger and Lorene Reininger.  He attended United Presbyterian Church in Aurora in his youth.  He graduated from West Aurora High School in Aurora graduating class of 1965.   After graduation Cliff joined the US Navy and proudly served for 4 years during the Viet Nam War.  After his time in the Navy, he worked for Consolidated Freight in Aurora and in Ladd, Il.  When he retired from Consolidated Freight he moved to Michigan where he could fish and pursue a relaxing retirement.  He eventually left Michigan to live in Texas and be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Besides fishing, Cliff was an avid reader and a history buff.  If he didn’t have a book in his hand there was one within reach.  He had a fun sense of humor and loved being around family and friends.  He enjoyed being a father and grandfather. He will always be remembered by his children and grandchildren as the guy who was always willing to play and explore together.

He leaves behind his children, son Matthew Reininger of San Antonio and daughter Molly Reininger Bastardo and son in law Jason Bastardo of Lewisville, TX .  Grandsons, Isaiah Reininger, Kamani Mason, Joshua Bastardo, and Jack Bastardo.  Granddaughters, Gabby Reininger, Nisha Collins and Alexis Howard, his sisters Joe Ann Nemmers (David), and Linda DeSerio (Guy) and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his father Cllifford Reininger in 1964, his mother Lorene Frieders in 2010 and his only brother Andy Reininger in 1990.

There will be a private Memorial in the future attended by his family.
