Donald E. Speerly, 87, of Somonauk, IL passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at Prairie Crossing Living Center in Shabbona, IL.  He was born July 20, 1934  in Mackinaw, IL, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Williamson) Speerly. He married Delyle Scott on June 30, 1956 in Mackinaw, IL. He worked at Caterpillar as a tool grinder for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and growing tomatoes in his garden. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by,  two children, Dennis (Linda) Speerly of Millington, IL and Denise Speerly of Johnson City, TN; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, one brother Robert (Maureen) Speerly of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Delyle of 64 years; one son, Dean Speerly; three brothers, Steve, Larry,  and Charles.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL., with Pastor Derek Johnsen officiating.   Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be follow  at Leland Cemetery.
