Gary Lee Daniels, age 72 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 19, 1948 in Shell Lake, WI the son of George Daniels and Iona (Bown) Fortun.

Gary was united in marriage on July 26, 1975 to Gail Svoboda and they spent the next 46 years happily together. Mr. Daniels was a proud Veteran of the Wisconsin National Guard. He was employed, for many years, as a Receiving Manager by Kmart. He enjoyed being active, spending time outdoors bike riding, hiking, and rock climbing. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Gail Daniels of Yorkville, IL; his children, Michelle (Rhyan) dela Peña of Montgomery, IL and Michael (Molly) Daniels of Stoughton, WI; his six grandchildren, Jalen, Ethan, & Arianna dela Peña, and Amber, Sydney, & Katie Daniels; his siblings, Diane (Carmen) Peterson of Battle Mountain, NV, Judy (Terry) Feiertag of Spooner, WI, DuWayne Daniels of Spooner, WI, and Calvin Daniels of Woodridge, IL; also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00am, with Memorial Service beginning at 11am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Steven Saunders officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mast Cell Disease Society at or a charity of your choice in Gary's honor.
