James (Jim) R. Luttrell Jr. was born on June 28, 1957 and passed away on May 10th, 2023 peacefully at his home.
He is survived by his daughter Kati Fish of Sandwich, son Cody Luttrell of Sandwich and his grandchildren Hannah, Abby, Sydney, and Seth. He is also survived by his siblings LeDena Luttrell, Raymond Luttrell, and Thomas Luttrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents James R. Luttrell Sr and Juanita (Skaggs) Luttrell.
Jim was a member of Leland High School graduating class of 1976. He participated in basketball and track. He joined the military after graduation and proudly served our country for 16 years as a member of the United States Air Force. His postings included Castle AFB in California and Grissom AFB in Indiana. After his service he lived for several years in Rushville Illinois working at Excel Foods. He moved to Sandwich and worked at Oswego District 308 for several years until declining health necessitated leaving the workforce.
Jim was very fond of working on cars when his health permitted. He was a proud veteran who belonged to several veterans groups and remained close with many of the people he served with.
Jim’s wishes were to decline a public service and to have a private family memorial at a later time. For those wishing, family requests that memorials be directed to Sandwich VFW and Fox Valley Older Adult Services.
