James W. Frantzen, 76, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born December 3, 1944 in Aurora, IL the son of Oscar and Florance (Jefferson) Frantzen.  He married Sandra E. Thomas on May 3, 1969 in Plano, IL.  He worked as an automobile technician for over 23 years at Gjovik Chevy Dealership  in Sandwich, IL.  Later he worked at Lee Auto Parts Store in Sandwich, IL.  James was a long time member of the Sandwich Lions Club.  He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid Chicago Bears  fan.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Sandy; two sons, Matt (Kari) Frantzen, and Chris (Andrea) Frantzen all of Sandwich, IL; three grandchildren, Jaden, Logan and Evan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.  Burial will be private at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL.  In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Sandwich Lions Club.
