The Leland Panthers jumped out in from of LaMoille-Ohio on Tuesday night in an opening round game of the Little 10 Boys Basketball Tournament in LaMoille. Leland led 10-5 after the first quarter, but LaMoille had a big second quarter and come from behind to lead 21-14 at halftime.
The third quarter belonged to LaMoille-Ohio as well as they outscored the Panthers 16-6 in the frame. Each team had 10 points in the fourth quarter to account for the 50-30 final score. The win sends LaMoille-Ohio against second seed Somonauk at Somonauk on Wednesday.
Senior Dylan Lovgren led LaMoille-Ohio with 12 points (10 in the third quarter) and Dylan Tornow came off the bench to score 10 points for the winners. Leland got 14 from sophomore Ian Cameron and 11 from freshman Evan Hensley.
In the other opening night game of the tournament Hiawatha defeated DuPue 58-45. Hiawatha will now play top seeded Indian Creek.
