Indian Creek has a beautiful new soccer facility in Waterman where this years Little 10 Boys Soccer Championship match was held. The Timberwolves of Indian Creek were to top seed this season and the Earlville Red Raiders were seeded second. Both were outstanding squads all season long and probably should have been seeded 1 and 1A.
Thursday night they battled for a good part of the match with Earlville getting a first half goal from Devyn Kennedy at the 34:04 mark to take a 1-0 lead and would hold that lead at the half. Kennedy was far from done on the night though that is for sure.
Indian Creek would get a match tying goal from one of their senior leaders Drew Gaston at the 37:41 mark of the second half. The 1-1 tie did not last long though as Bryar Keller would score at the 35:36 mark of the second half and the Red Raiders from Earlville would get two more goals from Kennedy to make the final 4-1.
Indian Creek would end the year with a 12-1-1 record and Earlville was 10-1 as they avenged an earlier 4-3 loss at the hands and feet of the Timberwolves during the regular season. Two great programs and two great teams this season!! The seniors on both squads will be missed that is for sure when play hopefully resumes this fall.
Serena won the third place match at Hinckley-Big Rock 2-1. Not a normal fall season, but a very good season none the less for the Little 10 Conference once again. They are certainly a power house conference in Class 1A in the state each and every year.
