Oswego East Wolves 250

Well Friday night at West Aurora high school the Wolves from Oswego East did something they have not been able to do at their home field or a the Oswego Panthers Ken Pickerill Stadium, they won a varsity football game!!!  For 15 straight times the Wolves came out on the losing end of the varsity games vs their rival Oswego.  Not on this night though!!

Oswego had moved the football very well in the first half but only scored once on a 5 yard touchdown pass from Julian Toma to Nik Hampton.  The Panthers had a 7-0 lead at the half even though they had outgained the Wolves 183 to 68.  Those missed opportunities for the Panthers would certainly come back to haunt them.

Michael Ford the quarterback for the Wolves had a great game running the football as he gained 84 yards running, 79 in the second half.  Ford would also throw a key touchdown pass to Jackson Lamboley at the 8:39 mark of the 3rd quarter and the game was knotted at 7-7 going to the 4th.

With just 1:43 left in the game the Wolves would take to lead for the first time on a 5 yard run by Oshobi Odior and lead 14-7.  The Panthers though would not go down without a fight as they drove the ball down the field and were at the Wolves 21 yard line, but could not score and the celebration was on for the Wolves.

What a game and what a thrill for the Wolves whose Head Coach Tyson LeBlanc said he did not even know what the traveling trophy even looked like.  Well they get to keep the trophy for at least until the next time these two great rivals meet this fall.
