Plano 250x250

The Plano Reapers boys basketball team had a 7 game winning streak snapped recently, but they are now on a 4 game streak with2 of the wins big Interstate 8 Conference wins.  The Reapers started the new streak with a win at home against LaSalle-Peru 72-31 in I-8 action.  Non-Conference wins over Aurora Central Catholic (78-58) and Coal City (69-62) were next.

The 4th win in the new streak was quite a win at Ottawa against the Pirates last Saturday.  Plano started with a bang as they scored an amazing 33 points in the 1st quarter and led 33-5 after that 1st stanza.  That kind of quarter just doesn’t happen often for any team and doing it on the road at Kingman Gym in Ottawa is just amazing.

Plano has 3 straight road games coming up at Rochelle on Friday, Mendota on Saturday and then at Indian Creek next Tuesday.  Right now Indian Creek is 22-0 on the season.  The Reapers are next at home against rival Kaneland on February 14th.  Four players have been leading the way offensively lately for Plano as seniors Griffin Cross, Robbie Taylor, Gabe Rodriguez and sophomore Mason Accidentale have been scoring in double figures each game.

Assist machine Patrick Johnson continues to put up double figures in assists just about every game.  Uri Rodriguez Cedrick Walton and McKai Vann all seniors have been strong off the bench as well.  Adding to the Reapers depth have been guys like Stanley Smith and Anthony Santoria as well.  This is one of the deepest teams Plano Head Coach Kyle Kee as had since taking over the program several years ago.
