The Plano Reapers boys basketball team traveled to Somonauk to open the season and came away with a hard fought 63-60 victory on Friday night. Just a few hours later Plano hosted downstate power Peoria Notre Dame and lost 80-36.
On Friday Mason Accidentale led Plano with 23 points including 5 three point baskets. Tristan Canfield added 8 points and Josh Padilla chipped in with 7.
The Bobcats of Somonauk had great balanced scoring as Brock Zimmerman hit for 18 points. Brendan Roberts and Alex Krejci each had 16 points as well, with Payton Wyant adding 10.
Against powerful Peoria Notre Dame Accidentale was the only Reaper to get things going offensively as he scored a game high 22 including 4 more 3 point baskets. Notre Dame had four players in double figures with Nelson Reynolds hitting for 16 points.
