Yorkville Foxes opened up their 2021 season with a road win at Plainfield Central as the Foxes defeated the Wildcats 26-14.  Dougie Burson had a huge day with over 200 yards rushing.  

Burson scored on runs of 41 yards in the first quarter to give Yorkville a 9-7 lead and the Foxes never trailed in the game from there.  Burson also caught a 26 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Luke Davies and he also had a 25 yard run for a touchdown in the 4th quarter.   

John Swarn caught 3 passes for 63 yards and Burson hauled in 4 passes for another 57 yards.  Davies missed all of last season with an injury but certainly had a decent night in week 1 throwing for over 150 yards including the TD pass to Burson.

Matt Maldonado kicked two field goals for the Foxes from 23 and 29 yards out.  Defensively several Foxes were in on tackled including Cole Yearsley, Will Schumacher and Dayne Woodin.

Yorkville will travel to West Aurora on Friday night to take on the Blackhawks.  WSPY Sports will carry the game live on FM107.1 and it will be streamed as well on WSPYNEWS.COM.
