The Yorkville Foxes varsity football team led 37-0 at halftime and won going away 44-14 at Romeoville to start their fall season with a bang. The Foxes first points of the season came on a safety by Kendall Smith
After the kickoff John Swarn would get the Foxes first touchdown of the fall and the extra point from Hudson Fiene would give the Foxes a 9-0 lead at the 1:17 mark of the 1st quarter. Smith would have a 9 yard touchdown run and another Fiene extra point had the Foxes up 16-0 in the 2nd.
Deajeion Lewis had a big night on the ground for Yorkville as he rushed for 107 yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Nathan Krause carried the ball 3 times for 69 yards and a touchdown. Krause also passed for a touchdown to Lucas Fisher and had 72 yards through the air on a 4-6 night.
Gio Zeman had 57 yards rushing and scored 2 touchdowns as well for the Foxes on the ground. Yorkville rushed for 301 yards and padded for 78 for a 379 to 163 yards of offense compared to Romeoville. Great start for Coach McGuire and the Foxes in week one!!
