Morris High School District 101 will be searching for a new superintendent after the school board this week decided not to share superintendent services with Morris Elementary District 54.

Last month, a special meeting was held between both school boards as they discussed the idea of having District 54 Superintendent Shannon Dudek become High School Superintendent, replacing Pat Halloran, who will be retiring in June of 2018.

Halloran explained why the board was not in favor of the idea.

Halloran also said the board heard from Alan Molby, with the Illinois Association of School Boards, regarding the search process for a new superintendent.

Halloran said the school board has plenty of time to hire a new superintendent.

He said this would be the first time in nearly 20 years the school board has gone outside searching for a new superintendent.
